I was at Foxwoods Casino this past weekend and stayed from Friday to Monday. I made reservations at the Cedars Restaurant because I love seafood and all I wanted was King Crab Legs. I went there, ordered crab legs and a salad and began to eat my meal. I ate about 3 crab legs. As I picked up the forth one, I dipped it in the butter and began to eat it. I instantly tasted ammonia in my mouth and instead of spitting it out, I swallowed it. I then picked up the rest of the crab and it smelled like ammonia. I had my dinner date smell it as well and he said he has never smelled that before. I picked up another crab leg and it smelled the same. If anyone knows anything about seafood then you know that if it indeed smells like ammonia, the fish is bad and not to eat it. My date then asked for a manager, but instead sent over the chef. I was confused because that's not who I wanted to speak to. So I tell him the situation, he then says well I can usually smell it from here, so I said well here smell it if you do not believe me. He said no I take your word for it. He then said to me 'well I just got a fresh case of crab legs in, I can make you some more it will be worth your while!' I am saying to myself, well what case did you get these from? I said very politely I am all set. He then offers me some shrimp cocktail, again I said I am all set. He said well if there is anything else you want, please let me know. After eating bad fish the only thing I wanted to do was leave. The manager then comes over and dryly says 'I am very sorry about your crab legs' then walks away. The only person who was compassionate about the situation was the waitress. Then I am told that you will remove the crab legs from my bill! No I shouldn't be paying for any of this. I feel like because I was African American that the entire situation was down played. The worse thing in the world you can ever do is serve someone rotten food. I will never go back there and my next complaint will be to the BBB.
My wife and I love Foxwoods. We go every Thursday and Friday. I have one major complaint. Your men's bathrooms are absolutely filthy. There are puddles of urine in front of the urinals that you have to step in. This is disgusting. Why can't you hire a maintenance man to go to each bathroom to oversee that all the bathrooms are clean! You really need to address this issue.

1[redacted] Attention Revdex.com: This is to notify you that I have received the credit from Foxwoods. I should point out that it took a Revdex.com claim in order to get them to give me the credit I was due. I truly believe that Foxwoods is guilty of [redacted] relating to that intentional inflation of credit card transactions. I am very willing to further discuss the reasons should you have interest. Thank you for your assistance in getting Foxwoods to respond and to do the right thing. [redacted]

Went to Foxwoods Resort Casino Ceaser casino. For a resort that wants more business they sure know how to ignore people. 2 hr wait for a beer and the high roller room was not even busy. I complained and it still took 20 more min to get someone there. After I complained they ignored me even more. I just will not spend my money there anymore. You would think the waitresses would want to make money. They are gonna keep losing business with this approach. Treat people better then they will come back.

Review: Poor Staffing for a Large Event = Missed 1/3 of Show
Attended the Fox Theatre Saturday April 20th for an 8PM show ([redacted]). Arrived 10 minutes before the show to find a line of 100's of people wrapping down & around the venue, all of whom had to have their tickets screened by a single individual who then would direct you to one of 2 lines, where after waiting you were then admitted by one of only 2 attendants taking the tickets. I was among 100's of people who didn't get into the venue until the show was well underway (we were seated around 8:25PM), the show already. Raising the issue to the inadequate staff drew blank stares, and one staff member smugly told me 'the doors opened @ 7PM'. I can see the problem if I were alone in the line, but I was far from the only person left standing outside by poor staffing levels.Desired Settlement: REFUND MY $'S

Review: We went on Feb 25-26 2013 to have the Romance Package at the Pequot Towers. They over charged us on February 25, 2013 for Spa fees that were supposed to be inclusive with the whole package. We have been on the phone day and night regarding the reimbursement of money back into my account of $300 to include also two overdraft charges on my account of $35 each. We have been speaking with Chris [redacted] a spa manager who has been in contact with us since March 7th. She apologized for the delay and has been nothing but nice and trying to help us settle this matter, acknowledging that the fault was of their own and according to her every day since March 7th, she has been telling us that the accounting department was supposed to have this in our account each day. So starting on March 7th, it was supposed to be in our account on Marcy 8th and so on. We originally emailed on March 2, 2013 to file a complaint with Foxwoods and didn't get a call back from anyone till March 7, 2013. As of today, at 1130am when I talked with my bank, there still has not nor has there been any deposits or pending deposits to my account. I think two weeks is long enough for broken promises from Foxwoods, Grant Pequot Towers, Norwich Spa of Foxwoods and their accounting department.

Review: I checked into the Grand Pequot on Tuesday, June 25th around 9:30pm. I was told that because 'rooms are not guaranteed' the room I purchased was not available. It took numerous people to figure out what to do. Finally after an hour and half, [redacted] from Grand Pequot was able to get us ' the only room available' and it was a smoking room. Because I did not want to be stranded, I choose the room. We were issued a 30 dollar room credit but when we checked out it wasn't on my account. We were told that we would receive a late check out the next day and that someone would contact me about it. We had to call someone to spray the room because it reeked like cigarettes. It took them over 45 minutes to send someone to spray the room. He came in sprayed two sections of the room and was like okay thank you. It did absolutely nothing. The night progressed and we went to bed. The next morning I am woken up at 7am by CONSTRUCTION ON THE 20TH FLOOR. WE WERE NEVER TOLD THIS. The workers were extremely apologetic but, it wasn't their fault. Spending money for hotels people come to relax and enjoy their stay, not to be woken up early. WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE ON THE FLOOR. The hallways had tools all over the floor, no carpets, smelt like strong paint, and it was hard to breathe between the cigarettes and the strong paint smell. Checkout the gentleman said that he wasn't aware of the 30 dollar credit that was placed for my account. He had to ask another manager to help him and verify that I was telling the truth. I was told also that when the room was ready, I would receive a phone call. I never once received a phone call and the room was already done earlier then our check out. I went down upon myself to make sure I was getting my room. The communication is very poor in your hotel. The bell man named [redacted] was the only person who knew what he was doing. It's a shame because we enjoy coming to foxwoods and I really thought your hotel was beautiful but after the experience I dont know if I will come back.

Review: I recently was a guest at Foxwoods resort Casino. I stayed for one night on Saturday, June XX XXXX. I was told by a man named [redacted] at the check in counter that we would be charged $149 for two nights. My brother and I were staying for Saturday. Two of our friends would be taking over the room for Sunday. We even asked him what the total would come to if we split four ways. He said around $37. We thanked him for giving us a good deal and proceeded to check in. We were never given a receipt for any confirmation that we will be charged a certain rate for the room. He mentioned that Foxwoods retains a $100 security deposit in case damage is done to the room. This $100 was to be returned upon check out if there were no damages. I had checked out the following morning July 1. When I checked my debit card statement the following Monday I saw a charge for $124.75. In addition to that I saw another charge for $349. Both of these seemed suspicious but I figured that the $124.75 was for the deposit plus tax. I figured that the $349 was for two nights and that the gentleman at the checking counter made a mistake when he told us that the price for tonight's was $150. After a few days I check my statement again and they had removed the $124.75 charge. The next day I check the statement again and there was a charge for $797.99. They clearly overcharge me for the room. All other charges were removed from my statement. The only charge was the $797.97. I immediately notified my credit card agency that they should be aware of fraudulent charges. I explain the story to the lady in the fraud department. She said that this is a common problem with hotels. It is obvious this company has made a mistake or is trying to rip me off. I have called twice and I've been referred to answering service both times. I sent an email to the billing department for the hotel. They have sent me back a reply saying they would get me in one week. I have not heard from them
Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund
I would like to be refunded money that I was wrongfully charged. I would like to be paid the difference between $797.99 and the $150.00 I was told that I would be charged. This comes out to about $648.00 that I feel Foxwoods Casino owes me.

The History of Foxwoods
The story of how the casino came into existence started when The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe gained legal control of their reservation and finally received federal recognition by an act of Congress in 1983, which overrode a veto by President Ronald Reagan.
The tribe would start getting the ball rolling for the starting development stages, and by 1986, Foxwoods would be founded as a high-stakes bingo hall on the reservation.
The tribe partnered with Lim Goh Tong, a Chinese Malaysian man who founded the only legal casino in Malaysia, for financing the necessary cost that would finally turn Foxwoods into a full casino.
In 1992, changes were coming. A bingo hall would no longer be the only thing that the casino had in its name. In 1997, the associated deluxe Grand Pequot Tower was opened for business.
The tribe added casino table games, followed by even more additional slot machines in 1993. Also in 1993, G. Michael Brown became the chairman of Foxwood Resort Casino.
After an agreement between the tribe and the state of Connecticut, the tribe would agree to give 25% of all of their revenue from the slot machines to the state.
As of 2007, that total sum amounts to be around $200 million per year. By the end of June 2008, the 6,300 slots at Foxwoods had generated more than $9.1 billion.
In 1995, Foxwoods added a poker room as well as a high-limit 30 table game area. Because of the casino being located on sacred and sovereign Mashantucket Pequot land, it is not required to comply with the rest of the state’s laws regarding smoking.
From the date of its arrival in Connecticut, Foxwoods has never been a smoke-free resort casino.
As feelings around smoking have evolved drastically through the early 21st century, Foxwoods eventually began to receive complaints about all of the indoor smoking areas, such as hallways, walkways, hotel lobbies, retail stores, and most restaurants.
Since then, the hotel has moved the most of the smoking areas to where the guests can breathe fresh air in most of the places that were previously smoke friendly.
There many very large casinos in the United States, and Foxwoods Resort Casino holds the honor of being on that list. So if you’re really interested in seeing very large casinos that just have tons and tons of floor space, this is the place to go.
Fun Facts About Foxwoods
From the date of its conception to now, Foxwoods Resort Casino has some pretty interesting stories and facts about the resort that are absolutely worth mentioning.
Many locals say on good authority that legend says that Foxwoods, from their first day onward, have never truly closed their doors, meaning that for 25 years their doors have stayed open.
When Hurricane Irene hit Connecticut in 2011, the casino chose to leave its doors open even then—hey, that’s not what I would have done, but I guess it worked out for them! The casino was not damaged by the hurricane in the least and still has its doors open to this day.
Star Struck
If you’re a citizen of the United States or simply just live on this planet then you should know who Frank Sinatra is.
When the casino opened the Fox Theater and Grand Pequot Tower hotel in 1993, Frank Sinatra sang and performed for five different sold out shows.
He left the audience with classics like “I’ve Got the World on a String,” ”The Best Is Yet To Come My Way,” and “My Way.”
Before his performance, he requested the essentials: cherry Lifesavers and Jack Daniel’s whiskey. I’ve never sang on a stage before, but I guess that’s the magic potion that he needs to thrive.
Sinatra hasn’t been the only world renowned musician of performer to have graced the stage at Foxwoods. Luciano Pavarotti, one of the best known Italian opera tenors of all time, performed at Foxwoods’ High Stakes Bingo Hall in 1994 for about 4,000 people.
It obviously isn’t a small Bingo Hall.
After his performance, Pavarotti was graced with three separate encores, bringing his audience back into the show for a final number. Some of Foxwoods’ exclusive commemorative gaming chips were passed around after his performance in honor of Pavarotti and all of his grand talent.
You can probably find some of the commemorative coins from the performance on eBay if you’re a serious collector!
The star power hasn’t let up at Foxwoods Resort Casino.
Plenty of other celebrities frequent the hotel. Some of the popular faces include Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas, Tricia Arnold, Nick Cannon, Quincy Jones, as well as several different contestants from America’s Next Top Model.
Inside the Casino
The facts definitely do a good job of showing how popular this casino really is. Foxwoods’ Valet attendants have parked over 23 million cars since the casino’s opening.
As compared to other casinos in the US, 23 million is a very high number, especially when you take into account the length of time the casino has been open and operating.
As one of the largest resort casinos in North America, Foxwoods has been considered by many to be a gaming paradise. With 3,500 real money slots on four different casino floors to choose from, it has the most comprehensive and diverse array of games in the region.
The Price is Right® Showcase Showdown, Wild Lepricoins, and Jurassic Park are all waiting for you to play until you’re ready to move onto something else. Becoming a valued member of the Foxwoods family when joining the Foxwoods Rewards loyalty program will give you extra access, bonuses, and benefits.
Inside Foxwoods’ Play Arena, it can be said that most people have never played casino table games the way you can here at Foxwoods.
The Play Arena gives players the ability to be able to play three live table games simultaneously. Whether you prefer baccarat, blackjack, or roulette, let Foxwoods Dealertainers spin the wheel and turn the cards that will name the winner while you watch all of the action from your personal play station.
Did I Leave Something Out?
This resort casino is a big one, and with its large size and densely crafted atmosphere for entertainment, there are going to be so many fine details that I’m just not going to be able to address in this short article.
